- Prodiamine 65 WDG (5 lb jug): 🔥 $79.98 (reg $88.87). Buy it. 10% off and in stock. The fall pre-emergent window is closing, so for most lawns this is now a stock-up for the spring pass. - Dimension 2EW (dithiopyr): 🔥 $139.50 for the 64 oz jug (reg $155.00). Buy it at DoMyOwn. 10% off and in stock. Dithiopyr is the “I ran a little late” preventer. It still catches crabgrass just after it sprouts, where prodiamine will not. If you are on time, buy the prodiamine instead; it covers more lawn per dollar. - Prime Source Meso 4SC Select (mesotrione): 🔥 $46.67 for 8 oz (reg $51.85). Buy it. 10% off and in stock. It is the generic Tenacity, the only pre-emergent you can put down the same day you seed. Came off the list this check: the Greenworks 24V blower (Amazon, not re-confirmed within 14 days) and the expired reader-exclusive VEVOR code. If you are buying nitrogen for a late-fall feeding on a cool-season lawn, the Anderson’s HCU urea is in stock at DoMyOwn ($85.35 for a 50 lb bag, verified October 21), and the urea link on this site points at it. Warm-season lawns are done with nitrogen until spring.
The gear I watch (Amazon, VEVOR and Home Depot)
Equipment deals bounce around more than chemistry. These are the pieces I would actually buy on a real dip:
- VEVOR battery backpack sprayer. The upgrade that makes you actually spray on time, and the sprayer I run on my own lawn. VEVOR runs its own sales that are worth catching, so check the price on their site before you buy.
- Echo RB-60 broadcast spreader. The one spreader I trust for even coverage without dumping product in stripes. $149 at Home Depot as of October 21, in stock to ship or pick up.
- A cheap soil thermometer. $12.99 on Amazon as of October 21, and it tells you exactly when to put down pre-emergent. The best few dollars in your shed.
How I think about deals
A sale is only a deal if you were going to buy the thing anyway. Chemistry keeps for years, so stocking up on a genuine discount makes sense. Equipment is worth waiting for a real dip.
